Thames Valley Air Ambulance is a charity at the frontline of saving lives. We provide emergency medical care by air and land to patients in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. Our critical care paramedics and doctors are highly trained and ready for any eventuality. We bring the hospital to the patient, giving you the best chance when the worst happens. Every day, somebody in our community could be in urgent need of our service. We rely solely on the generous support of the public.

By taking on Mission 40 and fundraising for Thames Valley Air Ambulance, you will be helping us to reach more critically ill and injured patients with hospital-level treatment when they need it most.

There is no minimum sponsorship, our suggested sponsorship target is around £100 per person. If you need any help with your fundraising, make sure to join the Facebook group for support and advice.

40 miles is the average distance our helicopter travels to get to an incident within our three counties of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. On an average day, we are called out to seven emergencies.

New for 2025: If you’re feeling ambitious, why not take on our 80 mile or 120 mile tiers?

Mission 40 takes place throughout March. You can complete your 40 miles at any time between Saturday 1st March and Monday 31st March.
