Volunteers are vital to our charity and help Thames Valley Air Ambulance remain at the frontline of saving lives. There are many different reasons for volunteering with us and whatever that reason we truly value your support. Whether you’ve been personally affected by our services or simply want to spend your spare time as part of a friendly community, when you volunteer with us you will be making a very real contribution to our worthwhile cause.
Some of our volunteer roles include helping at fundraising events, providing administration support at our head office, or raising awareness of what we do through public speaking. We’ll enable you to do as much – or as little – as you like and give you an opportunity to use your skills, or even gain some new ones!
Current Volunteer Opportunities

Thames Valley Air Ambulance – Volunteer Speaker (South Bucks)
Do you enjoy connecting with people and sharing powerful stories? Our Volunteer Speakers represent Thames Valley Air Ambulance at community events, from short thank you speeches at cheque presentations to longer talks that give audiences a deeper understanding of our lifesaving work. You’ll be fully trained and supported to deliver our speaker presentations with confidence — no previous experience is required.
CPR Champion – North Buckinghamshire (Buckingham/Milton Keynes) & North Oxfordshire (Banbury)
Our CPR Champions play a vital role in helping our community learn lifesaving skills. You’ll deliver friendly, accessible CPR awareness sessions to small groups across our region. By busting common myths, building familiarity with CPR, and increasing understanding of how simple defibrillators (AEDs) are to use, you’ll empower people to feel confident stepping forward in an emergency — becoming the first crucial link in the chain of survival. All CPR Champions complete the Resuscitation Council UK BLSI course, alongside additional support from our Clinical Education team.
