The 5S's and 1A of landing an air ambulance If you've been tuning in to Emergency Helicopter Medics, you'll have seen our paramedics assisting our pilots to land our helicopter and assessing the ground from above to figure out where the safest and most accessible location is likely to be. Safety is the top priority for our pilots, and they work as a team with the paramedics to ensure that every landing is safe and that our paramedic/doctor teams will be able to get to the patient from the landing spot. When landing, our pilots (with the help of our paramedics), have to consider many factors to ensure they can land safely. We land in a variety of locations, from fields to motorways, but every time we land there are 6 key things we have to consider. We call them the 5S's and 1A: We've got loads more exciting behind the scenes content on our Emergency Helicopter Medics site. Keep checking in as the series progresses, as we'll be releasing new content every week.
