WHAT’S INVOLVED WITH YOUR ROLE AT TVAA?

I am responsible for the administration of gifts left to us in Wills. I also offer advice to members of the community who want to know more about how they too can leave a gift to TVAA in their Will.

WHY DID YOU WANT TO JOIN TVAA?

After a couple of years in the charity sector, I made the decision to focus my career on legacy fundraising. In my opinion, a gift left to charity in a Will is the most wonderful legacy that someone can give. I believe they are the most rewarding planned gift to receive and it is an honour to oversee someone’s final wishes. When the opportunity came up to work for TVAA as the Legacy Fundraising Manager I was keen to be involved with such an inspiring and worthy cause. I couldn’t let myself miss out on the opportunity to be part of a making a real difference.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE TVAA FACT?

It still amazes me that we receive no Government funding. We only have the ability to deliver advanced emergency medical care in the way we do due to the generosity of the community - and gifts in Wills currently account for 10% of this vital income.

WHICH PROJECTS/WORK ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO WORKING ON/COMPLETING?

I am keen to hold some events to increase the community’s awareness around the importance of gifts in Wills to TVAA’s operations. I am also looking forward to getting to know the people behind the gifts in Wills we receive and ensuring that those involved know how truly grateful we are for the support that this type of giving creates.
