When the worst happens, and we are forced to come to terms with the death of a loved one, some people can find a measure of comfort by deciding to honour their memory by fundraising for a charity close to them or their loved one’s hearts.

There are many ways that you can fundraise and support a charity in memory of a loved one; a few are detailed below.

Make a donation in their name

If you would like to make a one-off donation to Thames Valley Air Ambulance via our secure website, please click here or if you’d prefer to speak to someone about a donation then you can contact us on 0300 999 0135.

As you make your donation you are in control of how much information you wish to share with us about why you are donating to Thames Valley Air Ambulance. Sometimes people wish to be very private and sometimes people want to share their reasons. There is no right or wrong decision about this and we will always respect your wishes.

Create an online tribute fund

By setting up an online memory giving page, you can remember and celebrate your loved one, whilst also providing an easy way for friends and family to donate, offer messages of sympathy and support and share special memories.

Setting up an online tribute page is not complicated and three good sites that you may wish to chose from are Just Giving, BT My Donate and Virgin Money Giving.

These online tribute funds give you the space to share photographs, videos and stories about your loved one, as well as giving you a platform to share funeral details that are easily accessed and shared. These pages can be kept open for as long as you desire, and if people decide to fundraise in-memory of your loved one, the money they raise can also be added to this tribute page.

Collecting at a funeral or memorial

If you would prefer not to set up an online tribute fund, or make a donation online, we can send you some collection tins, gift aid envelopes and charity literature to display at the funeral or memorial. We can also arrange for this to be collected after the event.

Take on a fundraising challenge

Taking part in a challenge event or organising your own fundraising event is a wonderful tribute and a really special way to remember someone special to you. Take a look at our Challenge Events page for some  inspiring ideas!

At Thames Valley Air Ambulance, we are aware of what a difficult time this can be for families and friends grieving someone they have lost. You may have some additional questions unrelated to fundraising that you wish to ask and our Patient Liaison Manager, Adam Crosby, may be able to answer them or signpost you to another service that may address your enquiry.
