Chris retired from full-time employment a few years ago and was very keen to use the time he suddenly had available to do something to give back to the community. He also wanted to be able to meet new people, and use the skills he’d gained in his career.

Chris looked for volunteer opportunities and found that Thames Valley Air Ambulance were looking for people to stand up and tell the world about the good work that the team at Thames Valley Air Ambulance does, what people in the community can do to support the team, and to raise some much needed funds.

Chris is now a regular ambassador for Thames Valley Air Ambulance - speaking to community groups that vary from Scouts to The Rotary Club.

“In January 2014 I took a big breath and gave my first talk, now I have completed nearly 70! I can thoroughly recommend joining Thames Valley Air Ambulance as a volunteer.

I’ve met some great people and I’ve told them about something that it is of vital importance.

I’ve really enjoyed doing it, I hope to do it for many years to come and it gets me out of the house! Most importantly I’ve helped to raise money to keep the service flying."
