The 2016 Open Gardens season has now come to a close with an amazing £48,683 raised for Thames Valley Air Ambulance. The season ran from April with more than 60 gardens across the Thames Valley region.

Open Gardens organiser Kate Martin gave a special mention to all those who had helped organise and support the event. “We have enjoyed another successful Open Gardens season and the money raised is testament to the hard work put in by our supporters, volunteers and, of course, the garden owners.”

This year saw the introduction of new gardens in North Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire, as well as a number to regular venues in Berkshire.
“All of our open garden days help to increase further awareness for the cause, raise vital funds, and also provide our visitors with a very enjoyable day out,” said Kate.

Whilst the 2016 Open Gardens may have come to an end, the plans for the 2017 season have already begun. Kate highlighted that the Charity are always looking for more people to get involved in the Charity the running of our open garden days. “We urge anyone to get in touch. It is an enjoyable and highly gratifying experience that will help the Charity to continue to fund our vital life-saving air ambulance service.”

Thank you to everyone who supported our Open Garden programme this year and we look forward to seeing you in 2017!
