Michal is taking on the Royal Berks 10K for TVAA Michal has decided to run the Royal Berks 10K in aid of Thames Valley Air Ambulance. Why? Well read his inspiring story… I started running in November 2016 after I cheered and waved one of my friends at the finish line of the Basingstoke Half Marathon. I've been talking about running for the last couple of years but the experience of quite a big event was the final push. I've now gone a bit running mad – I’m an avid Park Runner and I also volunteer at Park Run. I have volunteered at the inaugural Thorpe Park Half Marathon as well as the Fleet Half Marathon - you can tell I'm hooked! My running fever took me on to signing up for the Royal Berks 10k in May. My first thought when I've thought of signing up for the race was, "can I raise some money in support of a charity?" I know that a lot of runners raise money for charities whilst running races and it was kind of natual to me trying to kill 2 birds with one stone. When I've found out I can support Thames Valley Air Ambulance I did not need to look further for other options. All charities are equally important but I feel TVAA is one of those which helps all people without a difference and is not targeted at any specific "group". I feel that running for them is the least I can do to help save lives. With regards to my training, I have no specific training plan to follow to be honest. I want to do a few runs of 10k or more to get my body to experience the distance. If you are interested in running for us in the Royal Berks 10K or any other runs then please contact us.
