Kili Countdown - Part Two As we countdown to the end of 2016 we also countdown to Thames Valley Air Ambulance's Kilimanjaro Challenge. Kate Martin updates us on the groups progress in December. Our friends at Wycombe Leisure Centre wanted to help our Kili climbers reach their goal of summiting Kilimanjaro and were kind enough to put on a Nutrition Workshop and Group Spinning Class this month. Kimberley Travers ran the nutrition workshop and gave us some really useful tips on what to eat pre and post workouts to help the body recover, what snacks to take on the mountain and the best products to consume as meal replacements. It was great to have some practical advice and I think dried fruit and seeds will definitely be our friends on the mountain! The group spinning class was led by Johanna Coulson and it was a high intensity 45 minute workout and she really put us through our paces. My whole body is still aching but I felt great afterwards and the team felt like we had really achieved something.
