Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow Louise Roberts braved the scissors as she cut 16 inches off of her hair to raise money for Thames Valley Air Ambulance. Back in 2014 Louise and her family were in a serious road traffic accident. Thames Valley Air Ambulance was on the scene and helped to save Louise’s life. Unfortunately, her step-daughter, Jess Wright Roberts, didn’t survive the crash. Louise wanted to raise funds for us to continue our life saving work. “I am raising money for the Thames Valley Air Ambulance who helped me after my car crash, and who help the lives of so many other people each day. I want to help them continue to do a great job! “To do this I am cutting 16 inches off my hair and donating that to the Little Princess Trust, a charity that makes wigs for children that have lost their hair after having treatment for cancer.” Both Louise and Josie Devlin from Fake It Hair and Nails travelled to RAF Benson to meet the crew. Louise met Lisa Brown, the paramedic who saved her life. “It was really nice to meet the people that helped me and get a bit of info on the bits they remembered about the accident,” said Louise. Louise left RAF Benson with significantly less hair but with £400 in donations for TVAA raised through her JustGiving page and offline donations. We want to say a massive thank you to Louise, and Josie from Fake It Hair and Nails, for helping to raise money for our service. If you have been affected by the service we provide then we would love to hear from you, please contact [email protected].
