After four gruelling days of walking over hilly sand dunes, facing scorching temperatures by day and freezing by night, our supporter Scott is proud to say that he has trekked across the Sahara Desert. Through sponsorship he has nearly raised £2,000 for our vital service.

The group trekked across the Sahara from M’hamid to Foum Zguid and slept under the stars of the desert. A fine Moroccan celebration was in order on their last night to revel in their achievements.

Two decade ago Scott’s wife was involved in a car crash which inspired the couple to take life by its horns. Ever since they have been challenging each other throughout life which eventually led Scott to Morocco.

“I’ve absolutely loved every moment of the trip – it really went above and beyond all expectations. The highlight of the trip was overlooking the spectacular desert sun-rise after climbing to the top of the massive Chegaga Dunes – words cannot describe.”

Our advanced medical care is delivered by an entire team of people. From our crew to supporters like Scott, everyone makes a difference.

As well as challenging himself, the Sahara Trek was important for Scott as he could raise money for Thames Valley Air Ambulance.

“We have been supporting Thames Valley Air Ambulance for five years now as they do incredible work across the region. Thanks to the specialist skills and equipment onboard, they cut down the time it takes from an incident happening to medical intervention.”

Now Scott has well and truly got the challenge bug and is setting his sights on some of our other challenge events in the coming months.
