From doctors to supporters, every member of Team TVAA helps provide advanced medical care to over 1,000 people a year.

Our trustees are an essential part of our team who provide strategy and guidance to the rest of the team. Trustee Sarah is Vice Chair of the trustees and specialises in Marketing and Fundraising.

How do you and your job help provide patient care?

Everything we do ultimately is about ensuring that both now and in the future we can deliver the best possible outcomes for patients and their families.

From supporting the team to raise the much needed funds, representing TVAA at events, and supporting CEO Amanda and her staff to deliver world class pre-hospital emergency care.

What experience have you had that has helped you in your current role?

I have been involved in the charity sector for the last 18 years. My last role was Chair of Pancreatic Cancer UK and I have spent the last 8 years sitting on trustee boards. My understanding and knowledge of how boards should operate helps me in my current role.

In addition, my background in marketing and fundraising means I can provide specific support for the fundraising and communications teams.

What are you most proud of with the charity?

That’s a hard question! This isn’t meant to be a cop-out… but everything! From the amazing crew at RAF Benson who are always cheerful whatever the circumstances, our volunteers who are so passionate about this vital service, and all the amazing staff at Stokenchurch who work so hard ensuring that we can operate our services 365 days of the year come rain, shine or snow!

What is your biggest challenge?

TVAA is going through some big organisational changes at the moment. It is a very exciting time. My role as trustee is to work as a member of the board in providing support and guidance to Amanda and the executive team as we make the transition to take on full responsibility for our clinical governance and enhance the service we deliver in the Thames Valley region.

I’m really excited about the next phase of TVAA’s development and so proud to be involved. It’s such a great organisation.
