Thames Valley Air Ambulance enjoyed a successful weekend raising over £1,500 at Windsor Racecourse Firework & Laser Spectacular.

Despite rain on Friday and bitter coldness on Saturday the event brought in around 13,000 spectators who were wowed by a Star Wars themed firework show. The crowds were then left on the edge of their seats through the open-air screening of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Thames Valley Air Ambulance crew, staff and volunteers were out in force – and in costume – to collect donations and raise awareness of the charity.

Senior Fundraiser Manager, Ruth Dunkin thanked supporters after the event, “We were overwhelmed by your generous support over this weekend – without you, our life-saving service cannot continue.

“We also thank Windsor Racecourse for picking us as their chosen charity for the event. In May we are hosting our very own Charity Race Day at Windsor which we hope will become a regular feature.”
